Seated Acupressure Massage (SAM)

Seated Acupressure Massage is a de-stressing and rejuvenating 15 or 20-minute upper body massage focusing on energising pressure points. Performed over the clothes in one of our ultra-comfy massage chairs , it is ideally suited to the working environment.

More Info

Seated Acupressure Massage is a massage style that is derived from the Ancient Japanese therapy sequence ‘kata’ which works on meridian points throughout the body, without the use of any oils or lotions of any kind.

It is a modest and invigorating massage that soothes and regulates the nervous system, stimulates blood flow around the body and boosts energy levels and a sense of wellbeing. It has the ability to produce immediate effects on muscular tension, mental stress, neck strain, headaches and bothersome areas of back pain and discomfort.

Specific techniques designed to relax and revive stressed and tense muscle groups are used while the application of pressure over specific acupressure points enhance body functioning and overall wellbeing.

What to expect

Clients will have the pleasure of sitting fully clothed in one of our purpose built chairs, where they will be required to do little more than simply sit back, relax and reap the benefits of acupressure massage. Clients will be asked to temporarily remove jewellery and watches prior to the massage and ideally, long hair should be tied back.

Unless requested otherwise, the massage involves some work on the scalp so we recommend hair being gel or hairspray free on the day of the massage, and maybe slipping a hair brush in your bag for that day.

Who does it benefit?

Seated Acupressure Massage is an ideal treatment for anyone who works long hours and is in need of a short revitalising break… and realistically, that is most likely to be the majority of us!

This type of massage is a highly effective massage in both relaxing and refreshing the body and mind, promoting energy flow and the elimination of toxins from the body, leaving the client energised and invigorated.

It is an ideal therapy for the office environment due to benefits of massage over the clothes, and equally as inviting for those who may never have had a massage before.

Therapeutic Seated Massage

Seated Therapeutic Massage is a unique tension busting massage that brings the traditional Swedish Upper Body Massage into the office by recreating the experience in a seated 20-minute massage.

More Info

This is an amazingly relaxing and stress-relieving massage that combines the concepts behind both Seated Acupressure and Swedish Massage into one. Clients will be invited to sit in one of our extremely comfortable purpose-built chairs, with only the upper body clothing removed. This upper body massage focuses on removing muscle tension in the back, shoulders and neck which leaves clients with a super feel-good boost.

What to expect

Clients will be given the privacy to remove their upper body clothing and settle themselves comfortably into the massage chair while the therapist waits outside of the room.

A light non-drip massage cream or massage wax* will be used as a massage medium and a protecting sheet will be placed at the top of the trousers/skirts to avoid any chance of clothes being touched. The client can choose to have a lighter de-stressing massage or they can request a deep-tissue approach to reduce ongoing aches and pains and free those troublesome and overworked muscles from tension.

At the end of the session, the therapist will blot away any remaining cream/wax and will leave the client in privacy once again to dress before returning to work.

Requests: Long hair will need to be tied up so that the therapist has full access to the neck, shoulders and back.

*All creams and oils are hypoallergenic. Wax is not permitted for use of those allergic to bees.

Who does it benefit?

Seated Therapeutic Massage is the perfect treatment to quickly work out muscle knots, very tense shoulders and ongoing backache. It is a wonderful remedy for prolonged use of tired muscle groups, particularly for those who lift or sit at a computer for long periods of time. Seated Therapeutic Massage will leave each client feeling relaxed, revived and comfortable, with reduced aches and pains that may otherwise impinge on the working day or ability to carry out tasks without discomfort.
